The Strength Game Podcast Episode #075: Danny Wheel
Danny Wheel is the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at UNC-Greensboro. Coach Wheel oversees the strength and conditioning department for all 15 inter-collegiate teams. He arrived at UNCG after spending the previous 10 years at Eastern Carolina University, first as the assistant director of strength and conditioning before being elevated to the coordinator of Olympic sports in his final six years at ECU. Coach Wheel is a Master Strength & Conditioning Coach through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association earning the highest honor in the profession in 2019.
Wheel was a three-year letterman and two-year starter after beginning his playing career as a walk-on athlete for the Virginia Tech football team. Following his college football career he trained and competed in both strongman and powerlifting. He continues to strength train in a variety of different ways as well as currently gearing up for his first 5k race.
